The point of Emeraldcitypro co.uk is to be a portal for my music for the people who will most likely enjoy it. It will also point to sites where the music is sold online. Further it would need to be a reference and information point about myself and the music bringing in other related interest areas such as my Biog etc.
Of parallel function would be the need to be a promotion tool to Music Industry Publishing machine (EMI, Sony, Library Sites etc) having a presence there.
Hi Paul, I really think your line… ‘ be a portal for my music for the people who will most likely enjoy it’… is probably the key to your whole marketing strategy as these are the people who would ultimately buy your music and support you. I believe a major factor in your websites effectiveness will lie in defining a clear strategy to identify these people, to find where they currently go online and to know how to engage with them. The goal will be to attract them back to your portal on a regular basis.
I am sure lesson 2 onwards will help towards this.

Thanks for the lesson #1! don’t know why i have such a resistance/lack of confidence in this area. Great opportunity to grow then :>
So, here’s my elongated paragraph. I do find it challenging to pinpoint this stuff succinctly…
The point of my online presence is primarily to increase my audience and profile as an independent experimental (pop) music artist. I also act to increase my online reputation as a professional sound engineer/music producer. This would then translate into bookings as an engineer/producer/composer and increased fanbase for my music. The people I want to attract and communicate with are experimental music listeners/fans, DJs (radio+internet), music/fashion press (online+trad), sound engineers, fellow experimental musicians and creative thinkers/artists. I aim to offer exciting information & a deep musical experience so that people will be inspired and enriched by content, discover new music and approaches to making music. I hope that my online presence leads to purchasing my CDs/music online, coming to my gigs, following me and talking about me/share my info/links, book me for engineering jobs/gigs/remixing/sound projects/collabs. I want people to enjoy the mindfood I have to offer, interact, respond and stimulate/inspire me in return.
Thanks alot and look forward to your response…
Caro
Hi Caro, I think your paragraph is good. It seems that you have a really clear idea of who you are aiming at and what you want the result to be.
I think the idea of sharing mind food, connecting and sharing with like minded people will inevitably result in work and fans. Internet people definitely like sharers.
Having a look through your blog just now it is great to see the album teaser, very intriguing and really nicely done
I think the visual creativity certainly adds to it and will appeal to your blog visitors. Plenty of pictures is always great on a blog, it certainly pulled my attention and I read all of the text around the pictures to see what was going on
I think a lot of your content may naturally create the kind of phrases your target visitors look for but hopefully lesson 2 & 3 (when it arrives) will help you to really identify some of the key phrases related to your niche.
Cheers
Lee
